The Photographic Club was originally set up (many years ago - before my time!) as the Risley Photographic Club based at the Birchwood Science Park for employees of UKAEA, BNFL and NNC and concentrated solely on holding monthly meetings on site during a lunchtime. About eight years ago, having been offered a room to serve as a darkroom at the work's Sports and Social Club (called "The DATEN") in nearby Culcheth, we decided to affiliate to the DATEN and become one of its sections, in the process changing our name to DATEN Photographic Club.

DATEN Photographic Club comprises a group of people interested in photography and taking photographs, living in and around the Warrington area and most of whom work, or are retired from, either UKAEA, AEA Technology, BNFL or NNC. The Photographic Club is one of the sections of the Culcheth Sports and Social Club (The DATEN).
